On arrival, your guests will be met by the ultimate Christmas backdrop. Entering through the striking stone arches, they will be greeted by Somerset House’s spectacular ice rink and soaring Christmas tree. Skate at Somerset House with Fortnum & Mason is the picture perfect setting for your Christmas event – and our team of dedicated Event Planners will be on hand to ensure your guests enjoy a celebration like no other.
EAST WING
Accessed directly from the Edmond J. Safra Fountain Court, with beautiful high ceilings, grand windows and interlinking rooms, the East Wing is the venue choice for your Christmas party. Primarily home to Somerset House cultural exhibitions
throughout the year, guests will experience one of our more exclusive spaces. Our Christmas package creates the perfect setting for your party, right in the heart of London.

Can we bring in our own suppliers?
Please note that as Somerset House is a Glade 1 listed building, we do not allow and non-accredited suppliers to work onsite. If you wish to add any extras to your party package, please ask your event coordinator.
Refundable security deposit
A refundable security deposit is required for all bookings. The amount of deposit owed is a calculated on the length of the hire period and will be invoiced separately from the Hire Fee. The deposit is fully refundable up to 30 days after the event, subject to no damage having been caused to the building or the overrunning of the contracted timings.
Public liability insurance
Somerset House require all clients to have £10 million public liability insurance.
Wifi
Complimentary browsing wifi of 15 mb is included within your hire. Upgrades are available at an additional cost.
Site activity
As an arts and culture centre open to the public, we have a very exciting and constantly expanding public programme, which sees lots of different installations, exhibitions, artwork and public events all over the site. It is a huge part of what makes us Somerset House. There are also occasions where essential works need to take place on the building and these instances are out of our control.
Our iconic ice rink will be in situ and open to the public in the Edmond J. Safra Fountain Court.

Sustainability
We are actively responding to environmental issues, and aim to be cultural leaders in championing sustainability, both through the practical management of our Grade 1 listed historical site and thematically as part of our year-round cultural programme. A combined cooling, heating and power plant generated over 50% of all electricity used on-site. The heat generated by this process then goes to warm the building during winter and cool it in summer, dramatically reducing our CO2 emmissions.

Somerset House is proud to be an accredited living wage payer. We pay all of our staff and sub-contractors the London living wage.
