Bounce Battersea brings a Christmas party with a competitive streak to Battersea Power Station. Its ping pong social club sits on Level 1 of Turbine Hall B, with 15 games tables, beer pong and shuffleboard spread around a circular central bar. Inside are exposed beams, concrete columns and warm coloured lighting to give it the feel of a buzzing December night out, and it suits teams who would rather spend the evening in a doubles match than sitting through three courses.
Battersea Power Station station on the Northern Line is about 15 minutes from Tottenham Court Road. Vauxhall is a 20-minute walk away, and Sloane Square is 20 minutes on foot over the bridge or a short cab ride. The Grade II* listed power station is full of bars, restaurants and riverside walkways, so it’s easy to make a full evening of it on either side of your party.
Bounce is best known for its Games Gurus, who host the games and keep things moving, and for its high-tech Wonderball tables, which put an interactive twist on classic ping pong. For a private Christmas party, the Control Deck takes up to 40 guests and has its own ping pong and beer pong tables. The Turbine is a larger exclusive area for up to 100. Bigger teams can hire the whole venue for up to 300 standing guests and bring in a DJ or their own playlist. Smaller groups can book a table on the main floor with a festive food and drinks package, which comes with seasonal pizzas and festive bites like miso-maple pigs in blankets.
